Re: Importing from another notation program
Message:Hi, Yes, you can globally change the font by going to Set Default Music Font under the Options menu. You can also globally change text fonts by Using Swap One Font FOr Another Under Data Check under the Options Menu. Drum notation. To get stems up/down Go to Layers under Document Options and check freeze stems up for Layer 1 and down for Layer 2. Noteheads. It's an older way of doing it but it works fine. First, use the staff tool and double click the drum staff. Under notation style, chose Note Shapes. This will let you assign an alternate notehead for each line and duration. Go to Document Options and chose Notes and Rests. At the top check Use Note Shapes. This will allow you to chose a scale degree, a duration, and then what notehead you'd like. With a percussion staff you are basically in treble clef as far as this dialog is concerned. So, to get X's on the top space, chose quarter notes, then 3 for scale degree (E is three up from C) then chose X noteheads. This will change all octaves of E's but once you get this all set up. It will go much faster. I agree that there is no proportional diamond notehead in the Maestro font. You might investigate other fonts. You can change the music font used on a staff by staff basis by checking Use Alternate Font in the Staff dialog box. Ray
