Message:For those of us using Finale in Windows, typing -alt-0160 to get a non-breaking space is awkward and slow. Is this a possible work-around?Can we create a new font called "New Times Roman Chant." The new font would be identical to New Times Roman for all characters except the equal sign (=) (or some other character that is never used in lyrics). The equal sign could be changed to be a character with nothing in it, essentially a blank. Finale would then see "I=want=all=these=words=on=one=note" but since the font defines the character "=" to have no pixels on, the screen and printed version would show "I want all these words on one note" I don't have the skills needed to try this. Does anyone know enough about creating fonts (or have a techi-friend) to give this a try?
