How do you get many words on one note without using alt 160 all the time? Here's a work-around I discovered: Use a font for your lyrics that has been modified with the equal sign "blanked-out." Here's how I did it.Download a Font-making software (I used "Font Creator Program" by High-Logic at High-Logic.com) It costs $50 but you can get a 30-day trial version for free. Don't worry, you'll only need it for about 10 minutes!
In the program, open Times New Roman (or your favorite font)
Change the Equal Sign to be blank. (Double click on the box with the equal sign. This opens a box in which the equal sign is defined. Click on each bar and hit "delete." Click the X to close the box).
Run Tools/AutoNaming and add "Chant" after every occurance of "Times New Roman"
Save your new font as Times_CH or some other name. Be sure to use "Save As" or else you will have no equal sign when you really need it!
Exit the Font making program.
In Windows, install your new font.
In Finale, change your lyrics font to Times New Roman Chant.
Enter your lyrics using the equal sign as a non-breaking space like this:
I=want=all=these=words=on=one=note, but each of these to be separate.
You will see the = as you type, but once you go to the next note, Voila!, the = becomes a blank and it's all on one note!
Happy Chanting, everyone!
