Thank you. I think I found a way to handle it -- at least it worked. I changed the time signature for the entire piece to that of the pickup note and rebarred the music. Then I changed the time signature for measure after the pickup note (to the end of the tune) to the real time signature and rebarred the music. Additional pickup notes within the tune would be handled the same way. All that was left was hiding the time signature for the pickup note. Now I have issues with creating tablature for lap dulcimers. The learning curve goes on. Thanks again.
