Thank you, too, Peter, for replying. I expect I need to make the situation clearer than I did in my original post. I'm currently doing a show (as keyboardist/musical director) where the score--a collection of Broadway tunes--was presented to me as a whole, in a combination of manuscript and engraved pages. In past productions of this work, with different musical directors, a number of cuts have been made throughout, and for one of the selections the first page (in my copy) was a complete mess, the starting point being at one of these "cut" points. Moreover, I wanted to add two measures of intro before the vocals began, and so I redid this one page only on Finale, giving it the intro, a title, readable copy and so on. The rest of the piece is OK as it is (in the original) and I've not copied any of it into Finale, as there are another ten pages of music. So, as you see, I'm trying to insert, at the new beginning, a page of music with no final barline, that will then connect seamlessly to the already provided page two. And Finale still wants me to think that I'm at the end of the piece. I don't see why this won't work out the way I want it to, but then I must be missing something somewhere. If you or anyone still has the energy or willingness to give it another try, I'd be most grateful. It's not a big thing, of course (there's always the white-out!) but it annoys me that I can't do it this way. Thanks again.
