Assuming that you know that ties are created using = on the numeric keypad, here are a few remarks :
1. after creating a chord in one bar and the same one in the following bar, position your cursor ABOVE or BELOW the first chord and type =. This will create ties for all the notes of the chord.
2. to create or remove a single tie on just one of the notes of the chord, position your cursor precisely on that note (of the first chord), and type =.
3. If you position your cursor above or below a chord when a tie already exists, using = will create ties on the other notes and cancel the existing one. And vice-versa if you type = again.

So to save time, use method #1 for creating ties globally for a whole chord.
