Using a software sampler, it's already possible:

- cut the WAV file into multiple WAV files of 2-8 measures
- assign each of these small WAVs to a key within a software sampler
- have these samples triggered from within Finale, e.g. by adding a staff with a quarter note of appropriate key number each 2-8 bars.

It might be necessary to use a MIDI re-routing program such as Hubi's Loopback Device or MIDIYoke.
