Re: Re: Re: Chord detection and functional analysis
Message:Heres a kind of workaround. While Finale does NOT have an automatic chord analyzer, Sibelius DOES, in its plugin folder. You can save your file from Finale as an ENIGMA (extension ETF) file and then load THAT .ETF file into the Sibelius program. The free downloadable demo that Sibelius offers on its site will work for this purpose. Being a demo, you can't SAVE from the Sibelius program and you can only PRINT the First page of the program, but you will at least have the chords up there on the monitor. Some graphic programs allow you to save "screen shots",so you could probably save SOME form of Sibelius's output for use later. Still clumsy, but workable, if you have a 4 page document, you can print the First page, then delete the first page, then print the "New" first page, (which WAS the 2nd page) , etc., etc. You still get the big SIBELIUS logo across the output though. But Sibelius WILL analyze the chords on every 1/4 note, or 1/2 note, whatever you specify. I never SAID it was pretty. Bob
