Simple Edit and Edit-View Optimization

Message:When I'm in simple edit, it would be nice to be able to press the 'd' key and get a dot. I figure if you press 't' and get a tie, you should be able to press 'd' and get a dot.
Also when I'm in scroll mode it would be nice to have a feature where you could instantly optimize staves. For example, I was working on a large 40-line score, working on some counterpoint between the flute and violins and I had to scroll up to the top and back to the bottom. It would be nice to select just those two staves to view. Maybe have an extra column in the instrument list window, where you could select which staves you view when you're in scroll mode.
