Re: Scoop articulation...can't get placement
Please specify the steps you’ve already taken (to solve the problem), so that we can rule out things. One thing to try: Context-click the articulation handle. In the context menu, choose Reset to Default Positioning When you do so, Finale will reset the articulation’s positioning according to your s...

Re: Bug: Notes added when changing time signature
Not enough info. 1) What the layout is supposed to look like, we do not know. What should happen when you change the time signature from 4/4 to 2/4? a. Should the number of 2/4 measures be the same as the number of 4/4 measures before - meaning that 50 % of the notes should “go away”? b. Or should t...

I do not know of a way to “mass find & replace” , sorry. An idea: Program a chord metatool for the chord Gm7♭5. In this example let us say th...

Re: Digital parts - how do they work?
I have seen that solution at many concerts. It seems to be common today. Usually the device is a tablet computer in combination with a pedal. By The Way: Generally it is possible to have 3 printed pages next to each other on a music stand. To squeeze the part into only 3 pages, you could try resizin...

Re: Expanding a score - adding staves
… Should I add staves with the Staff Tool … Adding staves via the Staff menu is one of the ways to do it. Re: Varying numbers of staves.
1) For the staff numbering you could try a custom staff style. 2) Finale also has an option for “automatic” numbering. The option may not be exactly what you need. Just saying. Window menu > ScoreManager > Instrument List In the lower left corner of the window {Instrument List} there is a pop up men...

Re: Varying numbers of staves.
By your words “Abbreviated Staff Names” you mean S. and A. - right?
For the doubled staves I would use a Staff Group, and use the group’s Abbreviated Name.

Re: Is there a simple way to make layered accidentals overlap?
Two questions:
1) You are using Finale 27.4.1 - but was this particular Finale document created in an earlier Finale version?
2) What happens if you try
MIDI/Audio menu > Retranscribe
?

That “first rest” is the first rest on the bottom staff (in Layer 1).
The rest may look like it is on the top staff, but it has been moved up.

Re: Reverse beam issue
… I guess my mistake was using layer 1 for the up-stem notes and layer 2 for the cross-staff notes. Actually it can be done with the cross-staff notes in Layer 2. But then you have to do extra work: Before running the plug-in, do a stem-flip on the beam group. And when you are done running the plug...

Re: Reverse beam issue
My first guess would be that you are not selecting correctly.
Whenever you need to use a Finale plug-in, switch to the Selection Tool.
Select a region by dragging.
Begin dragging from outside the staff.
* Step by step instructions in the two attached files (.pdf and .musx)

Re: Reverse beam issue
There are several ways to do this. I would use the keyboard shortcut to the Cross Staff plug-in: Drag-select the region you need to move to the other staff. Then, hold down Option, and hit the Arrow key (Up-Arrow or Down-Arrow). To avoid the un-needed “beam corner”, flip the stem before you run the ...

Re: multimeasures resetting despite edits
My first guess: Document Options - Multimeasure Rests De-select the option Update Automatically What it does: During the initial phase when you enter music (probably from Scroll View), the option {Update Automatically} will break a multimeasure rest as you enter music into the empty measure(s). At t...

Re: Staff Labels lost
According to your forum user Profile you are using Finale v26 - right? As Bill Stevens points out, a possible culprit could be the Staff Attributes (in the Staff Tool). Staff Attributes work “horizontally”, through all the measures in that staff. (Consider using the plug-in Global Staff Attributes) ...

Re: Chord Symbols
* Are you using Capo Chords ?
Try with E## - my guess is that Finale will change E## to F#.
Explanation:
The culprit is
Chord menu > Simplify Spelling
Finale will always try to simplify "one" level, so if you want to enter (Cb), you can input it as (Dbbb), and your (Cb) will be there.

Re: Same clef multiple times within one measure
Welcome to the forum! Since everything is in the Bass Clef, there - strictly speaking - is no need for {clef change} clefs. To me it looks like the “extra clefs” serve the purpose of showing, what notes are sung by Figaro, and what notes are sung by Bartolo. One way to do it: In a Finale document yo...
