I got it to work! Instead of left clicking the measure, which brings up the menu and applies the staff attributes globally, I right clicked the measure and a drop down bar appeared, which applied the attributes locally. I didn't see this before.

I don't think 2002 has an "octave down" option, only a Bb M2 or M9 one. Not only that, but it doesn't play back as a trombone sound. How can I solve this problem?

After I transpose from one horn to another, it is in the wrong octave. When I try transpose from trumpet to trombone, I change it to bass clef and the notes are up in the ledger lines, keeping the original octave of the trumpet.
