Re: Your best tips on layout percentage for choral music

Thank you once again for sharing this useful piece of information. I'm so greatful, it opens up a whole new world! Music spacing is another thing I haven't yet found satisfying in Finale when it comes to music and lyrics. Either the music looks good but the lyrics are a mess overlapping, or the musi...

Re: Your best tips on layout percentage for choral music

Thank you very much :!: , I surely will try out some of your different suggestions! :D One thing that really made scores come out more "clear" in my eyes, was when I realized that the default settings of line thickness (several kinds) were diminished by half in 2012 compared to 2008; 0,015... instea...

Your best tips on layout percentage for choral music

Hi! I'm often working on choral music, and through the years I've been singing and reading loads of music from different editors. Still I haven't found the ultimate setup in Finale for pages and staves as far as percentage is concerned. I know this is very much a matter of taste, but I wonder if any...

Re: How create a shortcut for "delta" in Chords

I found out I need to type 7 after the ± symbol to make it turn into a ∆. And why not, G∆7 is probably more correct than just G∆ eventhough people will understand the latter.

Thank you Michelp for your PS; deleting the default library first to make my own one to the primary one. :-)

Re: How create a shortcut for "delta" in Chords

And by the way, shift+§ does not work on my Swedish mac keyboard as it turns into a diminish ring: °!
If I type shift and Plus, I get the ± sign, but Finale doesn't recognize that as a ∆ symbol from Maestro and asks me to add it to the library.

Re: How create a shortcut for "delta" in Chords

Thank you both! The colon option solved my problem easily.

A future request for Finale would be to develop the substitute function;
-add more symbols such as the delta as it's quite common.
-make it possible for the user to add and change his/her own symbols within the substitute function.

How create a shortcut for "delta" in Chords

Hello! While entering chords with Manual input, Finale automatically turns the letter "o" to a diminish ring, and shift+5 to a half diminished ring. Is there any way I can set Finale to create a triangle from a music font (i.e maestro) with the same technique? Either with an already existing combina...

Re: Out of range warning plug-in

Thank you for your quick reply! Yes, I'm familiar with that plug-in, but it's while entering the notes you need the help - not after. A different colour to the out-of-range notes would be a simpler way to see if you're on the right track. No marking of staves, no extra menu clicking, no automatic co...

Out of range warning plug-in

I suggest Finale adds a plug-in that colours notes red while entering if they go outside the "normal" range of the instrument. It should not correct anything for you but suggest you're about to burst the limits. It should either be set by default with the option to turn it off, or it should be an ad...
