Re: Clear a single lyric?
With the approach mentioned there apparantly was the extra nuisance that the bogus Verse 14 prevented TGTools from automatically left-aligning melisma syllables for the affected passage, which had to be done manually.

Re: Clear a single lyric?
Can you go to the Lyrics window, and delete the lyric there? Yes, that is probably the only way to proceed. The problem was that I have quite a lot of lyrics in the document (a vocal part from a 450-page 18th-century manuscript), and I accidentally misplaced some of them -- on top of other lyrics -...

Clear a single lyric?
With Mass Edit I can clear all lyrics from the selected passage. There isn't any method to clear just a single lyric (such as Verse 14) from the selected passage, or is there? (Yes, I know that I can achieve the same effect by removing Verse 14 altogether, moving the lyrics in it to, say, Verse 24, ...

Re: Page layout annoyance or am I stupid?
Thanks! I notice that my error was in the following: I didn't take into account the staff height (96 evpus), or the fact that this and the System Margins etc. are affected byt the Page Scaling percentage. Now if I stick with modifying the Page 1 top margin, the math is (290 + 96) x 0.73 = 281.78 = 2...

Re: Text across barline
Assuming your lyrics are attached to notes, can't you adjust the spacing (Measure tool) to keep the lyric text off the bar lines? Obviously I use various tweaks when lyrics would collide with barlines. Most frequently such collisions involve hyphens. In a traditionally engraved passage, the barline...

Re: Text across barline
This is, however, what one may encounter in printed music of the first half of the 20th century, with barlines cut as necessary.miker wrote:Normally, you would not have the barlines crossing through the lyric space.

Re: Page layout annoyance or am I stupid?
You are using Finale 2004b for Windows, right? Yes. I am sure you understand how difficult it can be to diagnose something blindly with nothing to look at. I'm attaching the document in question. Please note that it is unfinalized. There are three pages now, actually. All system margins: 0. Distanc...

Page layout annoyance or am I stupid?
I'm trying to (in Finale 2k4b/Windows for the moment) to align the systems of two adjacent pages onto the same positions (heights). In order to achieve this I have the following: Page 1: page top margin 290 evpus. Page 1 system 1: distance between systems 290 evpus, which is the distance between sys...
