Any recommendations for a midi controller around $100. 25 keys, mainly for music entry. Windows 10. Not sure what to ask for since I never used one.
Thanks for any help.

Re: Let arpeggio ring out on an ending chord
My first problem is that I'm terrible at being able to attach an example of what I want. I tried to do it as you suggested but, it would take a lot of time for me to learn how to do it.....(screen shot, copy/paste, export, gif, etc.). This is one important thing for me to learn and will, eventually. ...

Let arpeggio ring out on an ending chord
How can I have an ending chord of 1/8 notes sustain throughout?
Do I have to place ties on all the notes?
Do I put in a note stating 'let ring'?
How can I make it work on the midi playback?
windows ver.26.3
Thanks for any help.

Re: Tempo Mark
Thanks a lot Motet and Miker. I had a little trouble on the playback, but worked around it. Looks like I can't change the tempo by merely using the button bar on top (say 80 to 120) etc. unless I go through the expression tool as you suggested. Now, if I could just find a way to get a Gibson 175 sou...

Tempo Mark
Is there a simple quick way to put in a tempo mark (quarter note = 85)? I first went to the expression tool, proceeded through the 'flowingly' path etc. but it shows the word flowingly instead of the (quarter note = 85). I can't seem to make the tempo change on playback if I edit and place the mark ...

I can open a bakup file with winfin 25 but how can I change the bakup to my ver 26 to make it a regular file in ver 26?

Am in the key of D. Put in Db6 chord symbol. It keeps coming up as C#6 instead. How can I force it to stay Db6?
I tried to edit it to no avail.

Thanks so much to Miker and Motet. You guys are great and very helpful. I really appreciate it.
I ended up using the articulations way since it was easy to understand and didn't have to create.

paranthesis around a group of notes
Is there a way to put a paranthesis around a group of notes? They would be an arpeggio of four 1/8 notes. Would like to do this in music notation and tab numbers.
Am using windows 10 and Finale 26.

I'll just leave well enough alone if the I'll be able to work on the bakx at a later time. I was just worried about being able to open it again later.
Thanks Motet.

save as: bak. to finale notation file
I upgraded from win 25 to win 26 recently. Noticed that my files are being saved as bak. files instead of finale notation files now. How can I do a save as and change those to notation files.

Re: desending bass line
That was a good idea Miker. My problem with that is it is too tight because of my limited vertical space. Tweeking it would take longer than what I ended up doing.
Thank you so much for the suggestion.

Re: desending bass line
N. Grossingink: I tried what you suggested. I unchecked The 'root' in utilities but, it took away the # and b signs too. I created a #7 in the expressions tool via duplicate, edit. Then adjust the font size etc. This procedure works but was hoping for a simpler way to do this. Thanks to all of you f...

Re: desending bass line
You are correct on what I am asking for or Gm, GmM7, Gm7, Gm6. I would like to have Gm, #7, b7. 6 (desending bass line on a Gm chord) because of the limited space I have since they have to fit over 1/8 note triplets. I know that it can be done with a text box or with the expression tool but was hopi...

desending bass line
How can I type the chord symbols: Gm, #7, b7, 6 using the 'chord symbols' menu, not the 'text' menu? I can do it all except for the #7.
I tried to edit the chord, but when I clicked enter, it eliminated the # sign.
Am using win 10 Finale 25.
Thanks for any help,

Thanks to Bill Stevens for his suggestion on deleting expressions near the bridge. I typed "bridge" at the bridge using the expression tool instead of the text tool. It all works fine now.
Thanks to all of the rest of you for your help. I sure appreciate you all.

Why does the tempo change in the middle of my song?
I'm using win10 and Finale 25. Working on a song with verse, verse, bridge, verse. The tempo is set at 120. The 1st 2 verses play fine, but the tempo changes at the bridge to a slow speed (maybe 60) and stays that way to the end of the song. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks for any help on this. G...

Re: Transpose 1/2 step
Thanks Motet,
I know how to do it that way. I was hoping there would be a "simple highlight, type 6-9 for the transpose", but being able to get a half step.
