@motet: Yep, thank you! The option is in Document > Document Options… > Layers > "Consolidate rests across layers". And you can even set the distance between with "Adjust floating rests by:" option.

If I do it in two layers, will the rests be on top of each other? Or I'll have to do that manually anyway.

@miker: Thanks for the tip. I like to use the possibilities of layers, I use it often to filter voices, so I can hear only the Bass, Bass and Soprano and so on.
