I'm having very similar issues with v25. Type Into Score produces the positioning triangles. Click Assignment, they disappear. This was definitely not the case with Finale 2010. I now need to find a workaround.

I have a similar problem - frozen playback - but only when I play through MIDI. Playing through VST works fine. BTW, I tried the suggestion above and deleted FINMIDI.INI and FINALE.INI. Finale continually crashed upon startup. I restored the INI files and I'm back in business. Still no luck getting ...

Problem solved. Although I had copied Custom_Instrument.xml to Finale's secret lair for percussion midi maps, I needed to restart Finale to get it to take. Did so and lo, custom maps are all there.

Ah, quite right. Thanks for the reminder, Mike. Here's a followup question: I need to find where customized percussion midi maps are stored so I can copy and paste them to the new v25 folder. Need to know how to transfer my Percussion Layouts.lib from Finale 2010 to v25. Can't seem to find where percussion layouts are stored in v25.
