So, this is definitely a bug, but I have found a workaround for anyone else who sees it. In the Score, I add a second hidden grace note between the two visible notes. The hidden note collides with the following note, but the visible grace note moves to its correct spacing. A ton of extra work for me...

I never had to use a 3rd party solution before for the layer problem. I think I may have placed the real whole note rests in layer 3 or 4 to solve that issue. I'll try that, but the major problem with grace notes remains. With no way to move them in the parts, Finale is basically unusable now.

Latest update of Fin27, and odd things are happening that never happened in older versions... When editing parts, I notice grace notes collide with their following note, and there is no way to change it. Not with Music Spacing (any setting), not with Special Tools Notehead mover, and I can't even go...

Taking out the last gliss solves the transposition problem, but now I don't have the gliss.

The offending passage is in measures 33-35 in the horns. Remove the last note, save and reopen, and everything works. Play it once with the note, and the odd transposition occurs.

None of those (intentionally) in the score. And it only occurs once the "out of range" note is played. I do have glisses leading to each, but the others work fine when I remove that one note. And that one note is at the end of the phrase.

In my case, things worked again when I deleted these:

One of those numbers probably is out of range somehow and killed the function.

Not a programmer, so that's just a best guess.

This happened to me last week, and I was given the same advice. What I did instead was rename the file with the extension .in_, and then restarted Finale. It created a new version, then I opened both in Notepad and compared. I was able to find the offending lines from the old file, excise them, and ...

Just for grins, try dragging the palette back to your primary monitor then uncheck that menu item. There are times when things on the secondary monitor don't get dealt with properly by Finale, especially on Windows.
