Hello, can anyone tell me why on earth the tool bars for the smart shape designer are different, depending on the "root" tool I use? Can all the tools (Rectangle, ellipse) be available when designing smart lines?

Re: Would you do anything?
The accidental could be moved, but gets obscured by ledger lines. The notehead position tool (I assumed you meant that, since the note position tool moves all noteheads) doesn't do the trick, one could move the note head shortening the ledger lines, but collision is unavoidable.

Re: Would you do anything?
I was just wondering about the ledger lines (shorter?) and the natural sign placement.

Re: Partially hiding ties so they don't go through notes
Hi, follow the instructions in this thread https://www.finaleforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=20196, scroll down to wessmusic post. In this case, you draw an attached to beat slur covering the tie, and either erase the tie or minimize inside a notehead, if you need correct playback. You could get somet...

Re: Manual spacing
John, this I didn't quite understand: "Then I drag the lowest handle near the right bar line left to incorporate more space between the final note and the right bar line. This evens out the spacing in the entire measure." Lowest handle of the rightmost entry? moving it with or without SHIFT only alt...

Yes! I thought of that for when I need to place bracketed editorial clef changes.

Manual spacing
Hi again, I wonder if one can somehow click and nudge with arrow keys the entry handles for fine positioning. In Mac at least I have to move them with the mouse, being precision very difficult to attain.

Re: Visual compensation
I mean the horizontal spacing of the two first stems of each group, although the noteheads are properly spaced, the stems are usually stretched out so they look equally spaced.

Hi, is there any plugin or time saving method for compensating the stem distance as in the attached image?

Re: Are these known bugs?, am I doing something wrong?
Thank you!
I checked Automatic Update Layout.
I carefully followed the instructions for F27-Mac, but step 9 did not work, no prompts appeared after restarting and launching the program.
Anyway, I haven't got back to work with Finale yet, so I'll let you know if there are any changes.

Are these known bugs?, am I doing something wrong?
Hi, I've been working with a big orchestral piece, and I keep saving it a lot and autosave is set to 5 minutes, just in case. I've noticed the following issues (Finale 27, last update, macOS Monterey): - Most of the time, when opening the file, smart shapes are gone mad, slurs and 8a lines finishing...

Re: Seconds with accidentals
Thank you both.
Would you recommend reversing? I've got many of this in the score, and they would all need a manual adjustment.
I'll lift the rest too.

In this case, a flute 1-2 staff, should the accidentals for the second reverse their position or the default placement is ok?

Score with harp
Hi everyone, I have this score which uses the harp, and the composer (long since dead) writes the pedal changes as key signature changes. I don't want to lose some precious horizontal space for other instruments (see attached file), and I'd like to override the space before entries for these measure...

Editing part name text block
Hi everyone: I have a score whose stave names for ww. - brass appear as Name 1 2 (vertically centered) When extracting parts, the part name text block inherit these names, but I cannot edit them, erasing the 1 or 2 as needed; I have to delete everything and rewrite. However if I do this, the rectang...

Rehearsal letter problem
Hello everyone! I have a three-movement chamber orchestra piece, for which it really didn't make sense creating a file for each movement. But each has rehearsal letter, and here comes my problem: I duplicated the default expression set (A,B, ...) twice, so I have three sets, but the third copy is er...
