Re: Can't see the JW Plugins
Many thanks for the replies.
I have an Intel Mac and can see where the plug-ins should be.
I can see them under Mac HD / Library /MakeMusic /Finale 27, but do not know how to correctly move the folder.
Any advice much appreciated.

Re: Can't see the JW Plugins
Not sure if this is the right place : since upgrading to Finale 27 some plug-ins are missing. At the moment I only have Beam over Barlines and Patterson Beams. I can see others under Mac HD / Library /MakeMusic /Finale 27 (many of which would be most useful) Any installation help gratefully received...

Grace note slashes
Hi... sorry to present this here, but I can't find how to create a new post ! Here's the problem : in a new file all my grace notes have lost their slashes. Other pieces I am working on are fine. Speedy entry commands are not a solution. Document options — toggling "always slash" did not help either...

Hidden notes and rests
Hi.
I'm trying to keep the notes/rests hidden. In Prefs/open I have checked "keep the notes hidden" but they are still visible. Any help gratefully received.

Re: Fit Measures
Finale 25.5.0.259 OSX 10.14.5 Hi... I am using a fairly new template and fit measures is behaving strangely. I am trying to fit 3 measures for one particular staff which is fine, except many other measures are being moved simultaneously and annoyingly. Under the automatic settings I have : Across sy...

Re: Slur tool erratic
Eureka... just exported as XML and the new version has been "uncorrupted".
Quite a lot of "repairs" to be done, however, especially with special tools and cross staffing.
I have also eliminated the the independence of staffs.
Phew !

Re: Slur tool erratic
Update layout is turned on.
This is obviously a "corrupted" piece.. in that I used a previous work as a template.
When I try to remove any independent time sigs. the music goes berserk, as it also does if I add a temporary new staff.
Oh... bother !

Re: Slur tool erratic
Thank you, Motet... I do not have an independent staff, so I expect I'll have to find another way to draw the line. Since resetting my preferences, weird things are happening ... when I cross-staff, or when I use Command D, the appearance changes and the number of bars per staff changes. Control D s...

Re: Slur tool erratic
Hi Miker, Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. The clef sign problem has been solved by editing the clef definition. However, the main problem concerning the erratic 8ve lines only seems to occur in one piece. The others are fine. I have tried restarts and resetting preferences with no positive...

Slur tool erratic
Finale 25.5.0.259 OSX 10.14.5
Greetings,
The slur tool octave lines are behaving erratically — they jump somewhere else after placement.
I am also having problems with weird clef signs which appear when unnecessary.
Any solutions or suggestions very welcome.

Re: Staff settings and barlines
Here is a short relevant extract, Peter :
Bars 1-8 need barlines drawn through the 3 staves.
Bars 17-24 correctly show barlines only through the two lower staves.
Many thanks.

Staff settings and barlines
Finale 25.5.0.259 OSX 10.14.4 Greetings — I have encountered a problem in staff settings. I have a piano piece set out on 2 or 3 staves, including some multiple time-signatures which required barlines drawn through only 2 of the 3 staves. In spite of trying options in the staff tool (groups & bracke...

Re: Special beam over barline at repeat sign
Thank you Zuill.
Just added and hid a headless quaver — voice 2 in the previous bar, and that works fine.
My solution using a custom smart shape thick line also works, although it can be awkward to keep in from "jumping about".
By the way, how do you create a blank shape for a stem ?
Ray

Re: Special beam over barline at repeat sign
Just managed to create something by replacing the quavers with quarter notes and adding a custom line... I cannot upload photos as the file is too big.
However, one of my two lines "jumps" elsewhere. Can anyone tell me how to overcome this irritating movement?
Many thanks.

Re: Special beam over barline at repeat sign
Thanks for the quick reply, Miker. I just tried using custom shapes from the special tools, and from the expression designer, but both looked most unrealistic. I always find it very hard to manage this kind of drawing... and it is rather unwieldy. Do you have any other ideas ? I will persevere, howe...

Special beam over barline at repeat sign
Finale 25.5.0.259 OSX 10.14.3
Greetings,
Is it possible to create a special quaver beam over barline at the repeat sign ? (The following bar has no quavers).
Many thanks.
