No, I don't have the JW plugins installed.
Since posting, I tried pasting the same command repeatedly in the script until I hit the character limit. When I ran it, I bottlenecked for a bit but once it got going it worked just fine. I think I'll run with it.

Repeating an action in FinaleScript?
I've just discovered that FinaleScript is a thing. There's a particular repetitive action I need to perform for a current project that I've love to automate if possible. Basically, I'm finding and transposing notes with the NoteMover tool. I've successfully written a script that finds and replaces o...

Re: Mass add accidentals
Tried it in Scroll View. It didn't crash this time, but it did get locked up a little and then just sort of... gave up after about 13 measures. Only 172 to go. Pretty screwy. Ah well. I'd rather have a mindless key mashing method than one that behaves erratically or requires to me focus without blin...

Re: Mass add accidentals
Thanks zuill. It looks like once I set my Search and Replace criteria (transpose G up an augmented unison in all octaves), I should choose the Search menu and select Replace All, right? According to manual, that should do what I'm after, except every time I do it Finale crashes... Maybe it's having ...

Re: Mass add accidentals
That's no good either. You can still only do one measure at a time, and you have to independently set slots for each measure based on how many notes it contains. I'd have to completely change my settings for each measure, which would take much longer. I want to take every single G natural in my docu...

Re: Mass add accidentals
Unless I'm not puzzling out how to use this plug-in to achieve what I'm after, I don't think this is what I need.
For instance, I'm looking to take every note G in my entire document and modify it to G#. I don't want to transpose anything else.

Mass add accidentals
Is there a way to add an accidental to all notes on a given staff position for an entire document? I know you can modify all notes of a given staff position in a whole measure at once, but it would save me a ton of time on this particular project if I could make this one mass edit.

Re: Chord Tool One-Staff Analysis not behaving the way I want it to.
Thanks for the advice. I tried that and I got it to understand chords spelled with a double sharp as the root, but I still can't get it to stop enharmonically respelling inverted chords with a double sharp in the bass (such as A#/Cx getting spelled as A#/D). I can't get it to understand inversion of...

Re: Finale crashing but recovery okay
This happens to me every so often, and it seems to occur when I try and work too fast, especially when copying and pasting of measures is involved. I'm just guessing here, but it almost seems like it's bottlenecking. On a recent project, I could get it to happen if I pasted a measure and right click...

Chord Tool One-Staff Analysis not behaving the way I want it to.
For some context, I'm creating a series of fretboard harmony exercises for a guitar student exploring the triads of the harmonic minor scale. The one-staff analysis in the chord tool saves a ton of time typing out chord names and their inversions, but any chord that includes the raised 7th scale deg...

Show clef at beginning of each staff system
I'm creating several standard notation + tablature documents for several guitar compositions by adding tablature staves to the original standard notation-only documents. Everything is going fine, but there's a setting that is eluding me. The TAB clef is only appearing in the first measure, rather th...

Re: Custom articulations don't save
Alright, so far so good. Duplicating the articulations and adjusting handle offsets in the duplicates seems to prevent them from magically deleting themselves after saving and closing. Maybe there's a bug involving identical duplicates or something.
Thanks for the suggestion, motet.

Re: Custom articulations don't save
Nudging achieves the desired result, but it's way more time consuming than it should be. Hence why I'm looking for a workaround like this one.
I hadn't considered multiple versions of the numbers with different handle offsets. That may be the best approach. I'll try it and share what happens.

Re: Custom articulations don't save
That's what I usually do. Turning off stacking articulation by articulation causes them to not stack and overlap instead. Then you need to nudge.
If the duplicate articulations wouldn't magically delete themselves when I save and close, this workaround would be the most ideal thing.

Custom articulations don't save
I am using the Articulation Tool to notate fingerings on a composition for guitar. I want the fingerings to stack vertically over chords with the numbers corresponding to the notes in ascending order. Because the articulations stack automatically according to their order in the Articulation Selectio...

Re: Resizing staff name as staff is resized
Are you only resizing the staves with the resize tool? If you are, it sounds like you're effectively reducing the size of everything on the page, with perhaps the exception of title text, page numbers, etc. Anywhere you're able to specify a point size, there's a check box somewhere that says "Fixed ...

Re: How to make edits in linked parts and without changing s
Hey all, thanks for the advice. I've since started doing the linking/unlinking of specific items, hiding them in the score, and so on. It's great, but I've run into another issue. If I place a fingering (as an articulation) on a note that has some other articulation already attached to it (such as a...

Dynamics moved to the right in PDF
Finale 2104.5 Windows 10 Pretty much every time I export a document as a PDF, I end up with dynamics that are moved slightly to the right. Curiously, it only affects dynamics on the piano side of the spectrum; mezzoforte, forte, etc. stay right where I put them. Consequently, I often end up with dyn...

How to make edits in linked parts and without changing score
Finale 2014.5 Windows 10 I have a guitar quartet score all cleaned up and looking neat, and I'm neatening up the linked parts as well. Typically, after making the linked parts look clean, I extract the parts and begin adding fingerings. I do this because if I add fingerings in the linked parts, they...

Re: dividing a measure in two
You can change the time signature of a given measure without automatically changing the following. In this situation, I would do the following: 1. Insert an empty measure following the measure you are trying to split (so highlight the measure FOLLOWING the split, Edit > Insert Measure Stack > 1 meas...
