Re: 2 pianos 4 hands template

Thanks for the link. I'll try the templates and methods suggested and see how it works.
With scoring and printing music things are not always as simple as it would seem they should be.

Re: Four hands - primo & secondo

Thank you for this topic and replies.
I started another recent topic about the same subject and am still bewildered as to how Finale (makemusic) has avoided providing even the most basic templates for its users for so many years.

widest possible range of templates

After all these years, I'm still stunned that Finale doesn't include professional templates for every conceivable scoring need. The absence of such a common template as one for 2 piano 4 hand music is astonishing. Yes, you can choose 4 staves in setup wizard and mark them up for 2 pianos, but I refe...

Re: 2 pianos 4 hands template

Thanks for the demo, Peter. I was specifically looking for a template style that has been used by publishers for many years. The outlay is for facing pages - the left page is the secondo or second piano part that has either two bass clefs or one each of bass and treble. The right page or second page...

2 pianos 4 hands template

Looking for a professional template setup for scoring 2 piano, 4 hand music. Prefer one with full expression, articulation, text,
smart shape and other libraries appropriate to the 2 piano score. Please post links or upload template - Thanks.

Thanks. I've got the software on both mac and pc but I contacted the forum admin per miker's advice. Best to ask these things. Some web server will block ip addresses when there is too much and too fast download activity. So, better to find out exactly where the forum posts are and if the bulk downl...

Thanks very much michelp for the helpful post. It's useful but I'm truly interested in downloading the entire forum archives and putting them on a disc for reference in case ever needed. If I have to save the pages one at a time, then I'll do it over a period of time.

any way to download the forum archives?

Is there an acceptable, approved way of downloading all the topics - using a web site downloading program? Are the forum archives available for download in any other form than just going from page to page? Just asking in the interest of saving time. If there is a specific directory where to download...

Thanks for the replies. I've decided to have more patience and explore all the options. I should go to sleep before complaining about what I don't yet know how to do. The Document > Document Options > Font screen and Chord Menu > Change Chord Suffix Fonts allow some changes to be made. The Lead Shee...

create a new chord font library?

Using the template "lead sheet" which has default times roman, the text for the chord symbols is smaller but there are a lot more choices. If I want to jot down the codes or memorize them, I can type in C:168 and get a C∆7 chord symbol. Is there a way of creating a library of all the chord symbols i...

From the help file - Special Characters: You can type a “b” for flat and “#” (shift-3) for sharp. Finale also makes other common chord characters available at a keystroke, the diminished “” and half-diminished “” symbols. Since their key combinations may be difficult to remember, Finale offers easy ...

half-diminished (ø) chord symbol

I must be missing something - not doing something or doing something wrong. This is way too much work. Finale 2010b must recognize and provide symbols for such a widely used chord as the half-diminished 7th. Using Finale 2010b, lead sheet template with handwritten (Broadway) font, I'm entering chord...

In fairness to QSE, they have a 2010 version of Level II and 12.0 which, no doubt, is considerably upgraded from my version of a few years ago.

Rob, Although still a relative novice with F2010, I, too, upgraded for the easier percussion notation and for the extra Garritan instruments. It appears that the software has been "streamlined" to make many features simpler to use and more accessible. One of the first things I noticed is that it is ...

Finale 2010b from 2008b open, copy and import XML probs

Upgraded to 2010b and opened a 2008b file into 2010b. All the parts except the piano sound as if there is a sustain switch or pedal turned on. The parts playback and the notes never turn off. Using smart synth or Garritan instruments - makes no difference, same result. Also tried same routing on PC ...
