Miker,
That looks great. I will try it next time. Good idea! Why didn't I think of that?
I knew there was a way to do it, but just couldn't summon the idea.
You guys are great! Thanks for the help!

Re: Finale 2012 key signature before clef = bad
Peter, Thank you for your quick reply. I ended up using your technique of moving staff systems next to each other. However, I find it MUCH more cumbersome than being able to adjust measures to look like I would like them to look. Your reply and the example that you posted were extremely helpful! Jim

The key signature keeps going before the clef when I ask it to put the clef after the bar line. I understand that is the common musical usage, however, that is not what I want to d...

Tempo Marking
In Finale, you can use the selection tool to choose the first bar of the change. Then you can use the Page Layout Menu > Expressions > Create Tempo Marking. It's a great plug-in that works well.
I don't know how to do it in the other programs because I haven't used them in years.

Snare Drum
You must be using simple note entry. I find it infinitely easier to use a MIDI keyboard when writing drumset parts because you can set up a MIDI map to control notehead shapes and line placement. Also, you can put in several instruments simultaneously if needed (BD, SD, Tom, H.H., Cymb., etc.) Some ...

Re: Switching from grand staff to treble staff
If you have only written music in the treble staff, then just delete the bass clef staff. It should be easy...go to the Staff Tool, select the staff's handle and press the delete key on your keyboard. That should take care of it.
Good luck!
