Re: Rehearsal Tracks for Choir
I've produced audio only rehearsal tracks (basic piano sounds) for my choir this past year. Doing just audio is a time consuming process. I've also taken all parts separated (and separate click track) and exported them to use in my studio recording software. I can only record up to 3 people at one t...

Re: Accidentals not displaying in Finale 25
Use speedy entry, move cursor to each note and press the * key on your numeric pad. Worked for me. Your accidentals were hidden for some reason.

Re: Finale 26 oddities
I get the same problem. Close out Finale and restart it. Also make sure your Windows 10 isn't preparing to do an update. My big complaint with Win 10 is its updates. My desktop was crawling yesterday morning (was not using Finale at the time). I checked, and it wanted to download updates. So out cam...

Re: buying Perfect Layout
Thanks for posting that. I was considering purchasing, but this is a huge deal breaker. PL should really reconsider their refund policy at the very least. A 14 or 30 day trial would be nice, as other software companies allow.

Re: Finale unusable: cannot authorize, cannot delete authorizations
@johnmouse Firefox is definitely not chromium-based (source: Firefox developer here 8) ) Though it does share some small bits of code. I used to use Firefox exclusively, but it became sluggish with each new update. Even without any add-ons installed or running. Two computers and two entirely differ...

Re: Finale unusable: cannot authorize, cannot delete authorizations
Have you cleaned out your browser caches? I've had multiple problems with Chrome over that past several months (Firefox is also chromium based). I've switched over to Opera and haven't had any problems. If cleaning the caches out doesn't work, download Opera and try to de-authorize/authorize your pr...

I googled EZMacros and just on the first page of results I found 8 sites you can download it from. I randomly chose one site and it brought me to its download for the program.

Re: whole note in 7/8 bar
I would be looking at that and asking myself where that extra 1/8th note beat goes. I know the intention, but it doesn't add up correctly. It's one thing to use a whole rest. I guess it's permissible to use whole notes in 3/4 as well? Get rid of those tiresome pesky dots! It's too much work! [Sarcasm]

Re: Recommended setup for Windows 10
My Win 10 system (previously was Win 7) has a conventional drive, i5 processor, and 8 gb memory. Plenty big enough for what I do (mainly choral and organ music). According to my computer tech guy, you wouldn't be able to detect a difference between an i5 and i7 processor.

Re: Using a forward repeat at bar 1
You'll have to use an alternate way of repeating. After playing bar 3, there is nowhere to repeat back to since the repeat at bar 2 is clearly for the first two bars only.

Re: Using a forward repeat at bar 1
I agree with Harold. The initial repeat is not needed, but the second one should be more clearly defined.

I may have misunderstood. If the bass line is going from C# to C, then I would use Dm/C# Dm/C

I believe Motet is correct. I also remember the copyright being a major issue, so MM abandoned the project.

I would notate the way you suggested Dm (maj7). I play from lead sheets often and this would make perfect sense to me.

Just a thought.

It looks like a word extension. If you don't really need them, you can turn them off -->Document -->Document Options -->Lyrics -->Word Extensions radio button -->Uncheck Use Smart Word Extensions -->OK -->Update -->OK. If you do need them, see what word is being extended and either adjust the extens...

Re: Looking for an authoritative resource to settle a disput
As many of us have already stated, your colleague is incorrect. I have never heard of such a thing in my 56 years of studying music. The worst part is that he's teaching? Really? I do hope this is not at any university setting.
