Cool. I didn't know that it did that. You would certainly need to do it if you didn't use the plugin.

Don't forget that this will add a measure to your music, so you will need to add a measure number region, as well as althering the first measure number region.

Make sure that the keyboard is turned on before starting Finale. Also, if there is an "in" cable and an "out" cable, that "in" is plugged into the "out" on the computer, and "out" is plugged into the "in" on the computer.

Those are the two most common issues.

You need to use 2 different layers. Layers are covered in the tutorials, and depending on the version of Finale that you are using, they will be in the help file.

Please open a case with MakeMusic support for this. They would know best if it is a known bug, and if it isn't known, they should know about it.

I presume that you are using the full version of Finale due to the "assignment" issue and the type of thing that you are doing. TOOLS - ADVANCED TOOLS - SPECIAL TOOLS - NOTE POSITION. Click in the measure. Handles appear for each note, and you can move the notes around to your heart's content. If yo...

No, he is saying that you can only do some things in PrintMusic, but you can do everything in the full Finale.

By the way, how would any pianist possibly memorize that? I know, repetition, repetition, repetition.

Can you post the file? Or at least the first measure?

An Afterthough. Do you have the correct percussion layouts selected and the correct .xml file selected in the percussion drop down lists in the Instrument list?

Enter new tempos every couple of measures so that Finale know how much to rit. You can always hide the expressions.

Perhaps, when you extracted the parts, the tempo changes did not extract with them. Check the playback of the extracted parts, to see if the tempo changes migrated or not.

Just because your ears can't hear a difference, doesn't mean there isn't a difference. The MP3 is a compressed format, so there is a degradation after a certain amount of compression. The MP3 can be compressed at different rates, just as a .jpg is compressed at different rates. The proof of compress...

It is because the demo of Allegro is from 2007. There are no plans for MakeMusic to update Allegro. I has been abandoned as a product. PrintMusic has come a long way. You should probably try that unless you can afford the full Finale. Some people, however, are upset that the 2011 version of PrintMus...

Hi Peter. I tried your trick with the controller 11 set to 0, but it made no difference. Why Controller 11? The playback dropdown list describes controller 11 as "Expression". I also tried controller 7 which is listed as "Volume" but that didn't work either. Perhaps I need to investigate which contr...

Muting Measures

Hi folks. There must be some way of muting individual measures but I can't seem to find it in the manual anywhere. I want notes in certain measures to show, but I want them silent, because they will playback in a hidden staff with a different instrument. Any ideas?

Then look up Speedy Entry. Also watch the videos, and do the tutorials. Layers are a basic part of Finale. Voices are similar but different. Try searching layers again. You should get several hits.
