I occasionally look over at the "official" Make Music Forum. It seems every weekend it is inundated with spam. It's nice that this user-friendly forum is monitored properly to avoid the clutter and abuse.

While it is true that Mike Rosen and I (= the forum moderators) monitor this forum frequently, I must say that I have not seen any new spam posts for a very long time.zuill wrote:… It's nice that this user-friendly forum is monitored properly to avoid the clutter and abuse …
I am not sure why, but it could have something to do with the fact that you can not post in the forum right after you have registered yourself as a new user - there is a delay.
I am frequently browsing the old threads from years ago, looking for (and deleting) “irrelevant posts”, but that is a “a work in progress”.

Might be good for someone to direct traffic over here to avoid that kind of mess. I suppose that would be uncool and un ethical, but this is a good hangout for me. I find the official layout un-user-friendly.

Spam aside, they're more likely to find answers here, too.
I've joined the Facebook "Finale Powerusers" group. It's not, really. There are a lot of naive questions, which is fine, and there are some smart and knowledgeable people there helping, but there are also a few who tend to answer everything whether they really know the answer or not. Overall it's positive and worthwhile. Like the MakeMusic site, you can post pictures but not Finale files.
But I learn more here. It also is pleasantly feud-free now!

Special thanks to Mike and Peter for moderating here. I'm very pleased with this forum--I was afraid after the demise of the other one, that forum help for Finale might be done for. Again, thank goodness for this place and for Mike and Peter's work.
The official forum, spam aside, is strangely sparsely populated. I'd think it would be packed. As Zuill said, it's remarkably un-user-friendly. What I find inexcusable is the official so-called "Garritan Community." Help requests go unanswered.

It’s nice to have you here, too. Just like all families, we can have our occasional hissy fits, and that’s just fine. Nobody steps over the line, too often!
Here’s to a nice, long future.
Thanks, Scott (our host)!
