Does anyone know why this would happen and how to fix this? Please see png below.
When I change default music font from Maestro to Cadence and sometimes other fonts I get wonky placed articulations.

That certainly looks like a Font Annotation problem.
Take a good look in the folder Font Annotation.
My guess is that there is not a FAN file for the music font (e. g. the Cadence font) you are trying to use.
Unfortunately the Cadence font is not one of the fonts that come with Finale.
Hence the Finale installer does not install a FAN file for the Cadence font.
You may be able to find and download a FAN file for the Cadence font.
Or you could let Finale create the FAN file.
