I'm having some kind of difficulty with multiple lines of chorus on different staves. The five chorus lines for soprano are on top of the treble, alto are beneath, tenor are on top of the bass staff, and the bass choruses are below. However, some of the choruses are leaving sustaining lines that are not deleting, and these lines are not even in the same line as the chorus I'm editing. For instance, there is an alto line that is leaving them in the sooprano, and bass in the tenor, and so on. There's no pattern to it, it just appears to be random. I'm working in Allegro 2007.

Any help would be so appreciated. Thank you!

Are you assigning the lyrics to different verses? Yes, I know that each staff (SATB) can start over again from 1, but I find it helps to keep things straight to assign them different numbers, especially when the parts are not all singing the same lyric.

If this doesn't make sense, post the file. It has to be zipped, and under 100MB, to upload.

I think that Mike made a typo.
The file has to be under 100 KB.

Thank you so much for your help gentlemen! I do have each verse/chorus on a different number. The first stave contains the verses, and the choruses are numbered from top to bottom, i.e. sopranos 1-5, altos 6-10, tenors 11-15, basses 16-20. My problem is that there the lines that appear in random places, and won't show up in my edit lyrics box. For instance, in the fourth verse, last word 'sun', there are two lines/dashes going through it that are actually related to verse two. When I delete that verse completely they go away, but no matter how I edit it they are always there if there is any text for the second verse. The same thing happens in each part in several different choruses.

Thanks again!

When I opened it in Finale 2012, everything was fine. I saw no extra lines at all.

Does Allegro have Smart Word Extensions? (I don't remember when they were introduced.) If it does, try turning them off, and then, back on. This will sometimes rein in the renegade lines.
