Entering notes with keyboard question

Using Notepad and a Casio Piano I am creating music. For example I have
two instruments, violin and cello. I would like to know how to change from
one to the other, possibly with a keyboard command. I can only do this now
by clicking manually on the staff that I want to add notes to.

I don't believe you can do that in NotePad.
