I have created pages with multiple systems using different time signatures (e.g., individual measures, placed one on top of another for layout purposes).

I am unable to go into the measures and beam the notes. I have tried the various measure tools, the back slash, etc... with no luck.

However, when I create a similar page from scratch, I can insert new systems, copy the measure from the previous doucment, and then beam the notes exactly as I want to.

I'd like to figure out how to beam the notes in the original document, rather than create new documents, cut and paste, and then beam.

Any help on this one is GREATLY appreciated.

1. Please include pertinent details in your posts, especially if you are a first time poster.
Software version (Finale, Allegro, PrintMusic, etc.) and year (05, 06, 07, 08...) are beneficial.
Also, details about your operating system can expedite answers.
Consider putting this in your signature line (bottom of your post) to save having to re-enter it each post.

2. Specify the steps you've already taken, so that we can rule out things.
You tell that you "have tried the various measure tools, the back slash, etc... with no luck".

As Far As I Know, there is only one Measure Tool.
What "various measure tools" are you referring to?

Please specify what you mean by "etc...".

A few ideas:
Have you tried Scroll View (instead of Page View)?
Have you tried the Simple Entry Tool?
Have you tried the Speedy Entry Tool?
