I write a part for clarinet, then copy and paste into the part for trombone. Everything works fine except it's an octave higher than I want. I've searched for a method to fix this problem but all I can find are old posts saying to use the Staff Tool or the transpose command, and I don't have either. Please help.

NotePad is a very lowcost program, but also very limited - Ya gets what ya pays fer!

To transpose an octave down only a section of the document, the only way is to move the notes down with the Simple Entry Tool, one note at a time.

There's a trick with the Key Signature Tool that allows you to transpose the entire document an octave down:

1) Change the key signature.
In the dialog box Key Signature, choose "Move Existing Notes Down".

1) Change the key signature back to the original key signature.
In the dialog box Key Signature, choose "Move Existing Notes Down".

Since the notes were moved down both times, they are now an octave lower than they were originally.
