Hey guys,

I'm new to this forum and trying to get back into using notation software. I have an older version of Allegro (2002) that I'm trying to load on my new Mac Pro Quad Core, running Intel based Snow Leopard 10.6.6. It's not letting me install and I suspect this version is just way too old to use. I am right? Any suggestions? Thanks!

That's the problem. You need to purchase something current. Forget Allegro 2007. It's 4 versions out of date, and MakeMusic has said that they have no plans to update it again.

Also, forget PrintMusic2011. They have limited it to a (IMHO) almost worthless product.

If you can't go to the full Finale, I would recommend PrintMusic2010 or SongWriter2010. It does almost everything that PM2010 does, and more than PM2011.

Regardless of what you get, be prepared to spend time learning abut all the changes from 2002!
