I scanned some music and when PM read it, the notes were correct but it left out some triplet indications. When I manually entered them, the music looked right but when played back had an extra beat in those measures. I tried restarting the program; it didn't help. Ideas?

Scans will often insert hidden rests, especially when tuplets and layers are involved. The way I would look for it, is to select a note in the previous (or following) measure. Using the arrow keys, step through the notes in the measure in question. You should see the highlight jump from note to note. If it suddenly disappears, you've found a hidden rest. Tap the H key, and it will appear. Delete it. Note that if there are more than one layer, you should do this in all of them.
Also, keep in mind that sometimes, it's faster to clear the measure and re-enter it. The wisdom of scanning into Finale is knowing when it's faster to edit, or replace.
