I am using Printmusic 2014 for Mac. I scanned in some music, and I have it spread out over a lot of pages with lots of gaps. Some staffs have a page layout icon that looks like a page... I assume that is a page break, because those staffs will not drag over to the previous page no matter how much space is there. How do I remove those page breaks? I can't even find a command to insert them.

Welcome to the forum!

I could be wrong here, but I do not think that PrintMusic can delete Page Breaks.

Your best solution may be to copy all the music into a new, empty document.

I have a feeling that Mike will chime in here with some info.

The “full Finale” can do it.
You could try the Finale 2014 demo.
Look in the Page Layout Tool:
Select the system with a Page Break icon, and go to
Page Layout menu > Delete Page Break

Peter is correct; PM can't do it. Sorry.

And I agree with his solution. Copy and paste to a new document.

This happens fairly often with scanning, even with the pro versions of the scanning software.

Thanks guys. Seems odd that you can't do it, but it has quickly become clear that music software is not like word processing software. My solution was to create new measures on the previous page, where there is still plenty of space, and copy and paste the music there, but I figured there had to be something easy I was missing. I might try the Finale demo too and see if that works.

Finale does have the ability to remove page breaks, even those imposed by a scan. (I speak from experience on this!)

No oddity involved. It's simply that PM lacks many of Finale's features, and so it costs less.
