Is there a way in Finale PrintMusic 2014 (Windows) to vertically and horizontally align hairpins? There are various ways to move them, but I am yet to find a way to lock them all to the same height/location beneath note heads.

Thanks!

The “full Finale” can do it.

Disclaimer:
I know the “full Finale”, but I do not know PrintMusic.

1) In Finale you can use the Copy Filter to copy only “Smart Shapes (Assigned to Beats)”.
This means that you can enter the hairpin once, and then copy it to anywhere.
However, I do not know whether PrintMusic has the Copy Filter.

2) Also, in Finale you can use a plug-in to align hairpins already entered in the score.
Unfortunately, plug-ins are “full Finale only” - PrintMusic does not support plug-ins.

Hmm...I am not quite understanding how to copy just the hairpin, does not appear to be an option. It also does not allow me to flip the direction once created, so I would still need a method of aligning a crescendo with a decrescendo.

Other thoughts?

Thanks for the help!

From your description it sounds like PrintMusic does not have the Copy Filter.

I know for sure that only the "full Finale” supports plug-ins.

With PrintMusic you will have to adjust the hairpins “manually”.
I suggest that you zoom in - to a higher zoom percentage.
As a viewing aid you could try the program PixelStick. URL:
