My piano school's computers have Finale PrintMusic 2014 with all these plugins and advanced tools on them including things like the Advanced Tools palette and the tremolo notation plugin, etc. Yes, it is Finale 2014 and not Finale 25; the name on the top of the window when you open it says "Finale 2014" and the application icon is the "pm" logo with the "f" logo to the upper left of it.

My Finale PrintMusic 2014 didn't come with all these tools and plugins and whatnot. Is there a way you can modify or add to Finale PM 2014 so you can have some of Finale 25's features?

No. Plugins only work on the full Finale. Sorry.

I have no idea how they appear on the school's version.

This is how the icons appear on my computer:

Hold on, the school's computers might actually have the first logo but it's three-dimensional. They are Windows.

Like This? This is Finale 2014, before the 2014.5 update.

I think this may be what you describe:

But still, if you are using PM, it would say so in the upper left of the window. Suggestion: Take a look at the options for staff styles. PM has about 5, Finale has over 20.

So I will admit, I'm confused!

If you have a license for 2014, you should check out 2014.5. There were many updates and fixes.

Both will install onto the same machine (Mac and Windows) and use the same license. As you have been shown, the icons are slightly different—this confuses many users.

Find and place both icon shortcuts wherever you normally keep these. This will allow you to compare both versions to see if one is better for your use. For most, it is 2014.5.
