I recently finished composing and putting in a piano piece for two pianos, but I began by creating two separate parts for each one. I wanted to merge them together into one score, but didn't know how.

So...

I created a new empty score for two pianos, and simply cut and pasted the separate piano parts into the blank measures. I then had both parts in my single score. So far so good.

But my problem is this: I want the piece to play in jazz 8ths (swing style). I used the expression tool to put that in at the top, but upon playback it affects only Piano 1 and not Piano 2. I tried every which way to put the expression mark in so that it also affects Piano 2, but no luck. No matter where I try to put it in, it always anchors it to Piano 1 only.

I also tried deleting all of the expression/tempo marks at the beginning and starting over, but that didn't work either.

Obviously this is important because I want to be able to hear if there are any awkward-sounding spots that need to be rewritten. But with two musicians on my computer playing in different styles that's kind of dlifficult!

Any clue as to what I'm doing wrong?

I had a similar problem with swing, also. I think PM is just limited in how you can apply it.

Can you use the swing in HP, instead of an expression?

Um, what is HP? Is that Hyperscribe? If so, how might I do that?

HP is Human Playback. Look in the MIDI menu. You will see selections for Human Playback and Swing. If you set the HP to Jazz, you can set the Swing for None, Light, Standard, or Heavy. (note: Not all of the HP settings allow for Swing. If they don't, the Swing choices will be greyed out.)
