Is there some function or command that allows you to take a whole measure of music and drop it down an octave in pitch?
(Rather than individually selecting each note and dragging it down seven steps...)
Is there a way to drop or raise a measure one octave?

Heck, even I can answer this one, and I'm relatively new to the software.
Main tool palette...Selection tool.
Hilite the entire measure you'd like to take down one octave.
Utilities drop-down menu --> transpose down, diatonically, one octave.
Easy as pie!
You can even do more than one measure at a time, if you like.

Even easier: hilight the measure(s), and hit numpad 9 to go up an octave, numpad 8 to go down.
7 and 6 go up and down one step, respectively.
For individual notes, select the note, and shift+up or down arrow for octave jumps.
