I possess finale Songwriting software.

Can you customize finale drumbeats so that melodies can be created seamlessly over them? E.G If you have a particular brazilian rhythm can you insert that first, so that when melodies are placed over it, you can ensure different melodies sit over the same rhythm?

Yes. You can edit the drum grooves in the same way you would edit any other music. Then, you could save them as templates for future use.
