Finale Forum

I have Finale Songwriter 2005. Is there a way to add an instrument to my document without rewriting all of it? I would rather not make a whole new document just to add another instrument to my music.

SongWriter is a very limited version of the "full Finale".

I could be wrong here, but I think that the way to do it (in SongWriter) is to create a new document with the instruments you need, and then copy/paste the music over from the original document.

That's the way you would do it in NotePad, and the earlier versions of SongWriter were much closer to NP than the current version. It's now a lot more like PrintMusic, with many more features and capabilities.

You might consider upgrading.
