Guitar Fretboard Symbols?

I'm not familiar with guitar fretboards. However, I would like to show the fretboard symbols on my sheetmusic. How do I know if the fretboard symbols are the correct ones for each regular chord symbol? I've compared other songbooks with fretboard symbols and many of them look different than the ones showcased in my Finale document. I want to make sure the guitar symbols are the right ones associated with the piano chord in the song. OR, should I just trust that FINALE knows the exact guitar fretboard symbol to showcase? THANKS!!!

Finale knows the chords. However, they may not be the formation (inversion?) that you need for the sound that you want. You might want to work with a guitarist.
