Hi everyone.

I am writting a song with two separated parts.
There is a first part where I only write a melody (one voice only), and a second part where I have four voices, or if you want, a piano score.

I've acomplished successfully the first part. But from this point, I am not being able to add a four voice system, only to that part.
I've tried Score Manager (add Instruments), but the added instrument is added to all measures. I've also tried to play around with regions, but I could't make this work.

Is this possible to achieve with Finale. I need some guidance.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to the forum!

It is done “The Other Way Around” in Finale:
You add the staves to all the measures in the entire document, and hide the staves from Page View where you don’t need them (= in the first part of the document).
You can still see the hidden staves everywhere via Scroll View.

What Finale version are you using? - 2014? - 2012? - 2011? - 2010? - 2009?
The exact steps for hiding staves depend of your Finale version.

Hi. Thank you very much.

Meanwhile, with my research I found the correct way of doing that. It's exactly the way you say.
I've already correctly produced my score.

I'm using Finale 14.

My solution: StaffTool, select measures of the instrument, right-click in the right-top-most little square, and I've chosen Hide empty staves.

Thanks again.
