Hyperscribe Note Values

Postby Doug » Wed Sep 13, 2017 3:42 pm

I am just learning how to use hyperscribe for note entry and am having trouble getting the proper note values to appear. My piece is in 4/2 and I am trying to play 16th notes at quarter note equals 40 (or half note equals 20). I have not been able to figure out why I get eighths instead of sixteenths. I'd like the metronome to click at 8th note equals 80 as I play in 16th notes. Can't seem to get that to happen.

Also, is it possible to tell Finale that I am only playing 16ths . . .and that every note played should be a 16th?? I have it quantized to 16ths as the smallest note value but am still getting other note values, tied notes, etc.

Thanks!

I'm on Finale version 25 and use Mac at home and Windows at work.

Unless you can play absolutely perfect like a computer, you're not going to get the results you want. Sixteenth notes in 4/2 (even 4/4 for that fact) can be problematic in hyperscribe. You're better off using simple or speedy entry. A lot of us don't use hyperscribe.

Thanks for your reply. After a while, I came to the same conclusion.
