Hi all -

Finale 2006 seems like a great program, but it's far, far from intuitive, and the reference material supplied with it is not very useful for beginners, since it mixes up the basics with the most advanced information.

So I'm looking for a good book with tutorials for learning Finale (2006). Otherwise I'll end up pestering this forum with dozens of silly newbie questions.

Thanks for the help.

Two ideas:

1. Have you seen the videos on the Finale installation disc?
There's a lot of good stuff there.

2. Take a look at this:

Can anyone recommend the best source for learning how to assign and reassign instrumentation for playback?
Also, can anyone recommend resources that got them using Finale 2007 the fastest?
I've had my software for a while and keep having to set it aside. Project deadlines kept approaching and passing before I could understand Finale enough to use it. It is, indeed, a process.
Thanks!

Hi,

I was Just like you a month ago, pestifying about that NOT intuitive software, and bought "FINALE, an easy guide to music notation". Took 4-5 days of reading and doing tutorials, and now It is cool, things go much better with Finale. I still think it's a not intuitive software, but it is very powerful.
