Hi, I am a rock/pop drummer, as such I use a lot of 2 bar repeats when scoring drum grooves. I have recently purchased Finale 2012 & when I click the staff tool & select the bars I am only offered a "one bar repeat" where can I find the "two bar repeat" which I have seen in the same place on earlier versions of Finale.

Many Thanks

Nick

It's in the same place it always was, in my 2012.

Be sure that you don't have "Document: Show Active Layer" checked. Select the two bars that you want to apply the two-bar repeat sign to, and right click. You'll see several options, as shown by miker in the reply above mine. That list also includes an option for "Slash Notation," which is great when writing out drum music. Also, somewhere in this forum is a very useful list of plug-ins for music spacing; one includes "jwspaceemptyrests." The creator of those plug-ins (free as downloads) did a great job of setting appropriate durations for rests within measures and also for multimeasure rests; they make reading drum music while playing much more fluid.
