Hi,

Can I get finale to playback note by note? I could test my pitch in sight singing that way if I could.
I searched for this here but the search returned no results, as the terms were 'too general'. Maybe someone already asked...?

Are you using Finale 2011 for Windows?

I am not sure I understand, what you mean by your words "playback note by note".

Perhaps you are referring to Finale's feature "audio spot-check music", a. k. a. Scrubbing Playback.

In Mac Finale you hold down a modifier key (the Option key) and the spacebar, and drag the cursor across the score.

I suppose that Windows Finale works in a similar way.
Try e. g. holding down the Alt key and the spacebar while you drag across the score.

Using Finale 2014.5 for Mac, is the cursor the arrow? Which tool should be selected for this feature to work?

Started with Finale in 1997 on a 300 series Macintosh Performa. If only I had stayed current since then!

Yes.

As Far As I Can Tell, it works in all tools.

The order is important:
First hold down the Option key.
Then, while holding down Option, also hold down the Spacebar.
Now, while still holding down Option and Spacebar, drag the cursor across the score.
