Newbie here. I'm attempting to re-create one page of a single instrument orchestra part in Finale. I need to enter indications for tacet sections where they occur in the part (e.g. an 8 bar tacet before the next entry). I have searched the user manual and the videos but can find no reference to tacets or tacet symbols (a long horizontal bar with short vertical lines on either end). I'm not finding it in the symbol table either. Can someone point me to the documentation on how to do this please? I am, no doubt, looking right at it somewhere but not seeing it.

Look for "multimeasure rests." It lives in the Measure tool.

It's all in learning the terminology, ain't it? Thanks very much. Problem solved.

You might want to bookmark the online Visual Index. They used to send a hard-copy version of this, with everything labeled, but now you have to click on the thing you want to get a pop-up. http://www.finalemusic.com/usermanuals/ ... _Index.htm
