I'm scoring a tune in 9/8 time. Of course, the template defaults to the usual 3 groups of 3 eighth notes.
The composition is very much grouped 4 then 5 in feel; would be much easier to read/understand if written as a beamed group of 4 eighth notes then a beamed group of 5 eighth notes. I can't seem to alter the score to reflect this. Anythoughts/suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You can't reset that in NotePad. You MAY be able to re beam manually. (I say MAY, because I can't check at this time.)

Try this: select an eight note FOLLOWING another eight note, that is, not the first one on a group. Hit the / key. That will beam (or unbeam) to the preceding note, if NotePad has that feature. If it doesn't, you would have to upgrade. However, only the full finale will give you control at the root level. The other programs will let you do it manually.

^^^Thanks.
Will try this...
I do have a full version of Finale on an old Mac.
Will switch to there if I can't fix on my laptop/Notepad.

Just got home and tried it. Yes, the / key works to beam/unbeam in NP.
