I cannot get Finale 2014 to begin playback at a particular measure. The instruction turorial says to press the fast-forward or fast-backwards to quickly change the measure number in the measure box. I can do that and the measure number changes, but as soon as I release the fast-forward button, the playback begins at measure #1.
I have inserted a "D.C. al Fine" at the end of the song, but the playback always stops there, rather than return to the start of the song as it should.
I want the playback to start near the end of the song so I can troubleshoot the "D.C. al Fine".
Questions;
1) How can i make playback start in a measure other than measure #1?
2) Why doesn't the playback observe the "D.C. al Fine"?
I have attached the file.
Thank you for your help...

OK, I found out how to start up the playback at a particular measure # (although the fast-forward and fast-reverse buttons don't seem to work).
I still cannot get the "D.C. al Fine" to work.
Additionally, I am using the MIDI file for practice on my digital piano. But the MIDI playback is way too loud. I tried changing the "Base Key Velocity" setting in the Playback Settings dialog, but that had no effect on the loudness when I used the MIDI playback in Finale.
Is there a way I can reduce the loudness of the MIDI playback so I can play along with the song on my digital piano?

I took a look at your Finale document.EIS wrote:…Why doesn't the playback observe the "D.C. al Fine"?…
The text repeat “Fine” was set incorrectly in the Repeat Assignment.
I changed it to “Stop On Pass 2”, and then it repeated correctly for me.

Terry,
Never mind on the D.C. al Fine". I finally figured it out.
Any ideas on why the MIDI playback on my digital piano is so loud. I tried reducing the 'Base Key Velocity' in the playback settings, but that had no effect.
