Leave the measure alone

I want to add extra beats in a measure. I've turned off "Check for Extra Notes" and "Jump to Next Measure". The reference says a dialog box will appear when I try to exit the editing frame of a measure with too many beats. No dialog box appears and it still keeps adding the extra beats to the next measure. Exactly how do I get to the box that says "There are too many beats in this measure?

Try turning "check for extra notes" back on. (Just a guess; I don't use Speedy. But it seems to me that, if you tell it not to check for extra notes, it won't, so it won't tell you that you have them.)
