I'm using Finale 2011, Mac.
The issue seems simple.
I've changed the tempo using the following:
Tools --> Tempo.
This creates an invisible tempo change without marking the score.
I've recently realized that using the Expressions menu allows a marking AND a tempo change, which is great..but..
Now I have a score with all of these invisible tempo changes and I don't know how to access them.
Is there a way to reveal these invisible changes?
Thanks.

Selection Tool.
Select All.
Edit menu > Clear Selected Items…
In the dialog box Clear Selected Items, de-select everything (click “None”), and select only “Tempo Changes”.

If you want to see them without deleting them, it's a little tedious, but you can view tempo changes with the MIDI tool. Select "Edit Tempo..." in the MIDI menu and double-click on a staff, ideally in scroll view. You should see a horizontal line corresponding to the BPM that then steps up or down at tempo changes. The line won't appear until you've done at least one tempo change.
